Dubbed “Vitality and Power lead to New Future,” Haima Automobile Group , Chairman of the Board Sun Zhongchun said that “After judging based on the fact that the core attribute of an SUV is strong power, Haima Automobile Group would work out a completely new powertrain strategy and make it the world’s leading powertrain.”

Confronted with the development trend of the automobile dealing field, Haima is planning the future with “high-efficiency power” serving as a breakthrough.

This means Haima, taking “Vigorous Haima, Top power” as its manufacturing concept, will bring new generation vehicles that can give young drivers the ultimate driving experience.

In order to achieve the goal of “upgrading development concept, bringing more driving pleasure, ensuring energy saving and low carbon,” Haima Automobile Group will increase investment in research and development (R&D), technology, supply chain and operation.

Also, Haima will build a R&D team consisting of 1,000 members, establish an R&D facility in Europe and integrate high-quality supplier resources in the world.

“Haima will develop a hybrid engine with its thermal efficiency exceeding 40 percent, and by 2020, the average fuel consumption of Haima’s vehicles will drop to 5L/100km, and by 2025, to 4L/100km,” Zhang Huiwen, Vice-General Manager of Haima Automobile Group and Principal of Haima’s Powertrain Research Institute, said.

He announced a series of technical planning related to the new powertrain strategy.

With the sharing economy, Haima Automobile Group is working out a new powertrain strategy in an open attitude, and establishing a long-term strategic cooperative partnership with the world’s top automobile R&D institutions in terms of engine, automatic transmission, PHEV/HEV, heat management, and NVH, among others, to ensure that Haima will always stand at the forefront of technological innovation.

During the auto show, representatives of Haima’s strategic partners— Rolf Weinowski, Chairman of the Board of FEV China and Mario Brunner, Vice President of AVL, Austria—shared leading technologies involved in Haima’s new powertrain strategy.

Haima Automobile’s 1.2TGDI engine, jointly developed by Haima Automobile and FEV, has such advanced engine technologies as direct injection, DVVT, exhaust manifold integrated to cylinder cover and Miller cycle employed, with its maximum horsepower being138Ps/5500rpm and maximum torque being 230N•m/1700-3600rpm.

For transmission, Haima Automobile’s wet 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT), jointly developed with AVL, Austria, can bear the maximum input torque of 350 Nm and is characterized by compact structure, small size and light weight. It is worth mentioning that due to modular design, the 7DCT is easy to upgrade to a hybrid module that has a maximum torque of 280 Nm for maximum torque, a higher transmission efficiency of 94.5 percent and a lower combined fuel consumption of 1.6L/100KM.

With details of Haima’s new powertrain strategy revealed to the public, the 1.2TGDI engine, 1.6TGDI engine, Hybrid module and 7DCT were also presented in the auto show.

At the same time, the second-generation Haima S5 equipped with 1.2TGDI was first unveiled during the show which means that the implementation of vehicle development has been realized as an achievement of Haima’s new powertrain strategy. In addition, Haima S5 Young, M5, V70 with 7-seat and other exhibition cars will be equipped with the world’s top powertrain successively.

It is known that by the end of the 13th five-year plan period, Haima Automobile aims to sell 650,000 vehicles in total and achieve total revenue of RMB 50 billion.
